Cali
In a world of cookie-cutter pop divas, newcomer Cali is anything but a fresh-faced beauty. Her voice is strong but pure, while also a being talented songwriter. Cali has a desire to genuinely connect with her audience and everything about her work reflects that.
Cali was able to devote herself fulltime to the album which also features the writing and production work of Darrell Vanzant (former Director of A&R, Vivaton/SONY RED), Sam Mizell (Jump 5, American Idol’s RJ Helton), and Ric Robbins (Multi-Grammy Award Winner, GRITS, TobyMac), plus mixing engineer extraordinaire Steve Hodge (Multi-Grammy Award Winner and the master engineer behind such acts as Janet Jackson, Sounds of Blackness, TLC, Toni Braxton, Usher, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, New Edition).
Cali hopes that her music will encourage people, no matter where they are in life. Her songs are based on her experiences, but shaped by the human condition: struggles with self-image, with relationships, with faith. “I want my music to touch each listener personally,” she says. “I want the listener to place themselves into the song based on their life's journey. I'm passionate about writing and singing songs that give the audience that opportunity.”
Cali has been featured on the Radio Disney network within their Incubator Artist Program that will reaches in excess of 2.2 million impressions a day. This program identifies artists that show an early potential for commercial success, thus leading to the catch phrase, “Radio Disney Incubator: Where hits are hatched.”
Cali was featured and branded with Radio Disney for 12 months. There is strong potential for continued co-branding beyond the initial 12 months. Her music saw airplay on the network as well as her participation in on-air interviews, and live events. In addition to general radio broadcast reach, Radio Disney can be heard on satellite radio (Sirius and XM), online, and throughout the Disney family of parks, stores, and television channels.
The song and video for her lead single, “Get Up”, was received with great success at radio, television, and retail. It was the most added song at Christian CHR radio for two straight weeks. The video was the 4th most played on the Gospel Music Channel for 2007, reaching in the millions in impressions. At retail, both the single and video were in medium rotation on most of the major music networks servicing such stores as Journeys, Claire’s, Foot Locker, etc. The video saw airplay on both BET and VH1.
KJ Hines
KJ Hines (Kristopher James Hines) born on June 14, 1989 in Georgetown TX, a suburb of Austin TX, is on his way to fulfilling his dreams as a multi-talented rapper, singer, songwriter, and musician. KJ proved his stardom potential at the age of nine as he entertained his family with rapping, singing and playing the piano.
KJ established a name for himself in the Austin area at the age of 12, with his exciting and unique shows around and within the city. This young Artist is the next face and voice of Hip Hop with his vibrant nonstop energy that can only add to the game, and is on the verge of blowing it wide open! His style and talent has put him in front of some of the most vital names in the business. KJ has captured the attention of various labels and industry entities at Dap Records.
KJ Hines has a unique style of rapping using a Hip Hop sound with an R&B feel. As an opening act, KJ would always catch the crowd’s attention with his unique style of flowing and playing the keyboard. During his career, KJ has opened for LIL Wayne, Chris Brown, Pretty Ricky, LIL Flip, CHamillionaire, and Baby Boy Da Prince.
KJ has had the Honor of performing at Fort Hood, TX for the US troops returning home from Iraq. KJ Hines a teen sensation has earned him the name Da prince of the city. He has truly lived up to that name with his #1, single Capital City, representing Austin capturing the attention of the south.
