Jennifer Peña born in San Antonio and raised in Corpus Christi, started her career at the tender age of 11. This talented young lady leaped into the public’s consciousness in 1995 as one of the performers at a tribute to Selena. Jennifer also sang in the movie “Selena” as the young version of the superstar.
In 2002, the first single of her album “Libre” was “Vamos al Mundial” (Let’s go to the World Cup), Univision Network’s official theme song for the 2002 World Cup. The second single, “El Dolor de tu Presencia” (The Pain of your Presence) was #1 on Billboard for eight consecutive weeks and the album sold more than 300,000 copies, for which she received a Grammy nomination.
She was MTV Tr3s’s Artist of the Month, performing on Mi TRL and co-hosted the show, as well.
