A career path is knocking at your door and it's time for you to see what's out there. Fun, interactive, career and college prep workshops will also be held throughout the apprenticeship. So, step up your game and make yourself more marketable!
As a youth apprentice, students will walk away with the knowledge and enhanced skills in writing and customer service. Students can feel confident at the end of the program ready to shine and impress future employers. The apprenticeship will definitely help students prepare for job and college applications, and even life in general!
HIRED! Terms
The HIRED! Apprenticeship term consists of four 12-week terms repeated annually. Participants 15 to 18 years of age are able to participate in a maximum of two terms per year for three consecutive years. Within each 12-week term, apprentices are expected to work 15 hours in a 7-day period while concurrently participating in HIRED! Workforce-Preparation and Secondary Education Exploration Workshops.
Prerequisites to be a HIRED! Apprentice:
1. Three (3) workforce-preparation trainings utilizing Boys & Girls Clubs of America's (BGCA's) curricula, such as Job Ready!, CareerLaunch, CLUBService; 4-H curricula, such as Workforce Readiness, or a comparable workforce-preparation curriculum approved by the HIRED! Program Coordinator
2. Two (2) secondary-education exploration trainings, from BGCA's CareerLaunch, or a similar curriculum
3. One (1) financial-management workshop using 4-H's Financial Champions, BGCA's Money Matters, or an equivalent Curriculum
4. School documentation showing a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher The above-mentioned workforce-preparation and secondary-education exploration trainings are a prerequisite for participation in the HIRED! Apprenticeship Program.
