The fashion industry has a history of black modeling, unfortunately, it’s still popular today. And although progress is (slowly but surely) being made to ensure that people of color, specifically Blacks, are represented in all areas of the industry including modeling, someone often (and unfairly) has to make way for others. The following Black supermodels have had many of their firsts, and they have all also dominated countless catwalks and campaigns and deserve recognition.
