In 1999, she had her breakthrough as Jane Burnham in the critically acclaimed film American Beauty, for which she was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress. Idina Kim Menzel (born May 30, 1971) is an actress and singer from the United States. She gained prominence as Maureen Johnson in the Broadway musical Rent, reprised in the film adaptation.
