The series is about the wizarding adventures of the boy Harry Potter and his two best friends, Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, set at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, England. The adventures focus on Harry Potter’s fight against the Dark Lord Voldemort.
How many of Harry Potter’s female protagonists and supporting cast members are familiar to you? They are fictitious characters that have appeared in the Harry Potter books on more than one occasion. Let’s look at some magnificent characters throughout the Harry Potter story.
1. Hermione Granger

Full name | Minister Hermione Jean Granger |
Born | September 19, 1979 |
Species | Human |
Blood status | Muggle-born |
Hermione Granger is a Gryffindor Muggle student and best friend of the two main characters, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Writer J.K. Rowling said that Hermione’s birthday was on September 19, 1979, and she was almost 12 when she first set foot at Hogwarts.
She’s such a good person that she has an excellent grasp of theory, and according to Rowling’s description, Hermione is an upright, competent, and logical character. She always finished reading new textbooks before entering the school year. In class, Hermione was always the first (possibly the only) person to raise her hand to answer the teacher’s questions.
2. Luna Lovegood

Full name | Luna Scamander |
Born | February 13, 1981 |
Species | Human |
Blood status | Pure-blood or half-blood |
Although just a supporting character that only appeared from Harry Potter 4 onwards, Luna Lovegood seems to capture a rather special affection from the audience. As for Luna herself, she is a Ravenclaw student with a personality and aura that exudes an unmistakable “silly” look and is known to be the one to keep her wand in her left earlobe. In addition, influenced by her slightly extraordinary personality, Luna also has an extraordinary fashion sense that will make others feel a bit weird, not to mention one of Luna’s strange jewelry.
It is because of Luna’s somewhat funny and strange features that make the audience feels curious and excited about this special girl. In addition, like Hermione, the character Luna in the movie is also played by an excellent actress, Evanna Lynch, so, understandably, she makes an impression in the eyes of the fans.
3. Nymphadora Tonks

Full name | Nymphadora Lupin |
Born | Between September 1, 1972 and August 31, 1973 |
Died | May 2, 1998 |
Blood status | Half-blood |
Nymphadora Tonks‘ character journey was developed in greater depth throughout the books; despite this, she continues to be a unique and well-liked character in the film adaptations. Unlike the other members of the Order of the Phoenix, Tonks exhibited a somewhat humorous nature and tended to have a more laid-back attitude. She was first seen in Order of the Phoenix.
Tonks was fiercely loyal to Dumbledore and the Order, and her behavior during the Battle of Hogwarts was both heroic and selfless. Unfortunately, this led to her tragic death at the hands of the Dark Lord. Tonks’s death was a monument to her character because she knew she might not live to see her son become an adult, but she fought regardless, demonstrating that she was courageous and more dependable than most others.
4. Ginny Weasley

Full name | Ginevra Molly Potter |
Born | August 11, 1981 |
Species | Human |
Blood status | Pure-blood |
Ginny Weasley is the youngest of the seven Weasley brothers and a purebred witch. While attending Hogwarts, Ginny and all of her brothers were sorted into the Gryffindor house. Ginny was the one who, during her first year of school, was tormented by Tom Riddle’s diary. Harry was the one who rescued Ginny, and she went on to become Harry’s bride later on.
The fact that Ginny is adored so much is probably because the Weasley family gave her a beautiful appearance and a somewhat unique personality. Ginny is proven to possess a natural gift for magic; the spells she performs are pretty powerful. Her speed of learning a spell is highly respectable, which is why she is one of the essential members of Dumbledore’s Army.
5. Lily Potter

Born | January 30, 1960 |
Died | October 31, 1981 |
Blood status | Muggle-born |
Lily Potter is a supporting role in the Harry Potter films when viewed in the broader context of the story. Nevertheless, she plays a role that is among the most significant. Lily, a powerful and talented witch and Harry’s mother, handed along many of her most excellent traits to her son. Harry inherited many of his mother’s best qualities. Lily’s love for Harry was unending, and her devotion to the idea that she should watch out for him ran so deep that she was willing to give her life for it.
Lily possessed an unrivaled level of bravery, and even though she had passed away, she never stopped looking out for Harry’s best interests. Even though her backstory is unquestionably one of the most heartbreaking, she will consistently be counted among the franchise’s most heroic characters.

Full name | Hedwig |
Born | Pre 1991 |
Died | July 27, 1997 |

Hedwig is a character who, more often than not, is overlooked when considering the bigger picture. Even though she appears in a far fewer number of scenes than the other characters, she is one of Harry’s first pals in the wizarding world and remains his reliable companion throughout the films.
Harry couldn’t have kept in touch with so many people, including Sirius while hiding without Hedwig. In the battle of “Deathly Hallows: Part 1,” Hedwig shows Harry incredible bravery and loyalty. Even though she did everything in her power to defend him, she was nevertheless killed by the killing spell, which left Harry inconsolable.
7. Narcissa Malfoy

Full name | Narcissa Malfoy |
Born | 1955 |
Species | Human |
Blood status | Pure-blood |
The fact that Narcissa Malfoy was a member of the Malfoy family made it very simple to take an instant distaste for her. Despite this, she did not exhibit the same harsh and sadistic conduct that appeared to be associated with the Malfoy name. She was known to be a supporter of Lord Voldemort, yet, she did not take part in the last battle, and it was made abundantly apparent that ensuring Draco Malfoy’s safety was her primary concern at all times.
Narcissa’s decision to tell Voldemort that Harry had been killed proved to be the deciding factor in his defeat. Her maternal instincts are similar to Molly Weasley’s in that they both loved their children without the condition, which is an odd thing to compare the two women to. Still, it’s impossible to deny the similarities.
8. Minerva McGonagall

Full name | Minerva McGonagall |
Born | October 4, 1935 |
Species | Human |
Blood status | Half-blood |
Although there were a lot of professors at Hogwarts, Professor McGonagall was one of a kind. No one else was quite like her. Teachers and students alike had a tremendous amount of regard for the lady who headed Gryffindor House, which was likely due to the direct manner in which she communicated with people and the fact that she had zero tolerance for improper conduct.
The three friends saw McGonagall as a father figure, and even though she carried herself in a somewhat authoritative manner, she was always there to guide them whenever they required it. Not only did she play the role of the solemn Professor, but she also had a sense of humor and was there to provide comic relief even when it was the last thing anyone anticipated.
9. Molly Weasley

Born | October 30, 1949 or 1950 |
Species | Human |
Blood status | Pure-blood |
Molly Weasley possessed a unique talent that enabled her to make her audience swoon over her in an instant. She was the pinnacle of goodness and placed her children above anything else in the world in terms of importance. Molly was the one who provided Harry with a natural home after he had spent his childhood oblivious to the concept of a traditional family.
Molly displayed the courage of a real Gryffindor during the Battle of Hogwarts, which she fought with her family. Her presence was a gift in the movies, and her character was the ideal combination of a responsible mother figure and someone who gave fantastic comedic value. She struck the perfect balance between the two roles.
10. Bellatrix Lestrange

Full name | Bellatrix Lestrange |
Born | 1951 |
Died | May 2, 1998 |
Blood status | Pure-blood |
There is no doubt that Bellatrix Lestrange was entirely and utterly treacherous, but just because she was evil doesn’t mean that she wasn’t a tremendous asset to the Harry Potter universe. Bellatrix, initially presented to the audience as Sirius Black’s cousin was a devoted follower of Voldemort. Her allegiance to the dark led her to engage in very heinous acts.
Bellatrix’s violent temper led to her becoming one of Voldemort’s most ruthless death eaters, and she was already a deadly witch with frighteningly high levels of expertise. Helena Bonham Carter’s portrayal of the wicked witch was one of the most compelling performances in the movie thanks to the ideal combination of childlike mannerisms and villainous demeanors that she brought to the role.
11. Madame Poppy Pomfrey

Full name | Madam Poppy Pomfrey |
Born | Pre 1954 |
Species | Human |
Blood status | Pure-blood or half-blood |
If you don’t recall, Madam Pomfrey served as the Matron of Hogwarts, which puts her in a similar role as the school nurse, albeit one with significantly more experience. If Madam Pomfrey had not intervened, approximately six kids at Hogwarts would still be unable to face the school day after exposure to the Basilisk. In addition, at one point or another, each of our three significant protagonists has been under Pomfrey’s care while in the hospital wing.
There is no doubt that she was an extraordinarily knowledgeable healer. She didn’t waste any time returning to work after participating in the Battle of Hogwarts, and she immediately started helping those injured during the conflict. She has brought relief to all of our heroes, so she should receive a lot more affection than she does.
12. Fleur Delacour

Full name | Fleur Isabelle Weasley |

The winner of the Beauxbatons competition was Fleur Delacour, a witch who was part of Veela and possessed exceptional abilities and a keen mind. While she did not fare so well in the hedge labyrinth, she did very well in the first job, which involved fighting the dragon.
Because only the most talented witches and wizards are allowed to compete in this illustrious competition, it is evident that Fleur is a top student at France’s most prestigious magical school. Although not much else about her magic is known, it does appear that she is highly skilled with Charms. She was so skilled that she quickly put a dragon to sleep.
13. Dolores Umbridge

Full name | Dolores Jane Umbridge |
Born | August 26, 1961 |
Species | Human |
Blood status | Half-blood |

This was done following Fudge’s plot to maintain eyes on Harry and Dumbledore and even prevent Harry from speaking out about the return of Voldemort. She caused all of her students to suffer, but Harry took the worst of it.
There is no question in anyone’s mind that Umbridge’s magic is superior to any student’s. She seriously considered using the Cruciatus Curse on Harry, even though she is not a particularly powerful witch. Just anybody can’t cast the Unforgivable Curses in such a manner.
