Swim, sunbathe and enjoy Belton Lake at Sierra Beach, BLORA's authorized swimming area. The swimming area schedule is dependant on availability of lifeguards. Lifeguards are on duty Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer season pending availability of lifeguards.

Covered family picnic shelters are located adjacent to the beach. The snack bar sells refreshments and features a patio deck that overlooks the beach area and beautiful Belton Lake. More than 300 family picnic sites and 143 covered picnic shelters, many with barbecue grills are scattered throughout the park.

Boat Rental
Fishing, ski and party boats are available for rent at the boat dock. Fishing tours, fishing contests, and weekend lake tours are also offered.

Party boats may be reserved in advance; all other watercraft items are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The marina resale store sells bait, food, drinks, & fishing accessories.

Open to the public.

Winter Season (October – March):
Open Wednesday – Sunday, 7 am – 4 pm

Summer Season (April – September):
Open Wednesday – Sunday and holidays, 6 am – 8 pm

Boat Testing
A Fort Hood Boating License is required to rent a boat with a motor. The test is administered Wednesday through Sunday during operational hours. The test consists of a written test and a boat practical on the lake. Test pamphlets are available at Belton Lake Boat Dock and the Equipment Checkout Center, Bldg. 4930, Clear Creek Road on Main Post, phone 287-4126/1853.

Anyone born after 1 September 1984 must take a Boaters Education Course.



Skiing
IAW Texas Parks and Wildlife Water Safety Act and Fort Hood Boating Safety rules, there must be a licensed driver (age 17 or older) and a spotter (age 13 or older) for every motorboat towing a person on water skis. Watercraft Rental Contract:  Authorized patrons must be 17 years of age or older and possess a valid military I.D. card to complete contract requirements to rent watercraft rental items.  Minimum boat rental is a two (2) hour block except for fishing boats.



Boat Launch
Two boat ramps are available at BLORA, and ample parking space is provided for cars, trucks and trailers. The boat ramps are available for use by all BLORA boating patrons.



Boat and RV Storage
BLORA has dry storage rental spaces available for boats and RVs, along with boat slip space in the marina. Must be an authorized user. - $20 per month or $220 per year



Pavilion Rental and Picnic Areas
Refundable pavilion cleaning deposit, pending clearance by BLORA staff, required upon check in.

BLORA USAGE/Gate Fees:
Gate admission is free for all authorized MWR users with valid military or civilian I.D, except for special events, i.e. Waterfest, Flashlight Egg Hunt, Nature in Lights

General Public:

  • $4 winter
  • $8 summer

Mountain Bike Course:

  • The price is $3 per person/daily, there is also a $30 family annual pass available.
