Valerie Kathryn Harper is remembered for her roles as Rhoda Morgenstern on The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970–1977) and its spinoff Rhoda (1974–1978). In 2013, she was diagnosed with cancer and had only a few months to live. However, with her extraordinary life force and passion for art, she worked hard and devoted herself to art until her last breath in 2019.
